hi, All:
now we have two SAP production system: A and B,
we want these two instances to share one DMS,
that is, when users of system A check in a document(PDF or Word file) to DMS (content server/secure storage area ), users of system B can: (1) access this file and (2) change the file and then check-in again, after check-in, User of A can
then get updated file.
in a word, users in two system want to read/change
one file.
is this possilbe and how can we implement it?
thanks very much!
JK
Hi,
mainly you can share the files on two systems if you maintain the same content server for both systems.
If you maintain the same content server and storage categories for both systems then all users should be
able to handle the same originals on both system.
However I would not recommend you to do that, because this could lead to serious inconsistencies if users in System A and B are working on the same physical originals (same LOIO and PHIO IDs).
So I would also recommend you to realise a Cache Server solution for this issue.
Best regards,
Christoph

Hi
So for sharing DMS in both the content servers you have to cofigure the cache server of A in B and vice versa
That is make cache of A to B and B to A.
I think that would be done by the basis guys.
But make sure that before doing this process take back-up of both the content servers.
