Basha,

Applying Single Support Packages

Use

If you want to update only particular software components that are deployed on the system and do not want to apply complete support package stacks, you can apply single support packages. The import time is shorter for single support packages than for support package stacks. In addition, you can apply newer support packages of SAP software components that have been modified in the NWDI.

Before you can apply a support package of a given level, you have to update JSPM to the same level by applying it as a single support package.

The update of JSPM does not require a restart of the J2EE Engine and does not affect the system operation.

If you want to apply a support package stack, you must not use this procedure.

Prerequisites

...

● The settings of your system are according to note 723909.

● The AS Java and the database have been backed up. For more information, see Backing Up and Restoring AS Java.

● Directories and files have not been deleted, renamed, or created in the following directories and their subdirectories: /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe and /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile. Otherwise, JSPM cannot detect the kernel and the system profiles, and cannot be started. If a backup of the kernel and the system profiles has been required, it has been created in a different directory.

● If your database is MaxDB, the overwrite mode for the log area has been set. For more information, see Changing Log Settings.

● The support packages you want to apply have been downloaded to the global EPS inbox directory /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in. For more information about SAP products, see SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/swdc.

● If you want to update the EP as a single support package, the SDM timeout for the automatic start/stop of the J2EE Engine has been increased to 2 hours. For more information about increasing the SDM timeout, see SDM Troubleshooting.

● The <SID>adm user has Read permissions for the global EPS inbox directory /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in.

● The database and the SDM repository have been synchronized. For more information, see JSPM Does Not Update the Versions of the Deployed Components.

● There is enough disk space. For more information, see Requirements for Free Disk Space.

Hi,

I applied SPAM Version 23 in new installation System ECC6.0.

After that i applied BASIS-sp11, ABAP-sp11, HR-sp09. After that I started SAP_APPL-sp08 and SAP_BW-sp12 there i got one popup window like no imports in queue. Please give the solution.

Thanks,

Hi Venkat,

what do you mean with "popup window like no imports in queue"? Do you mean, when you select a software component you get the popup which usually contains the calculated queue and this list is empty? This happens in rare circumstances if some import preconditions of the concerned Support Packages are not fulfilled. Then please apply the latest SPAM/SAINT update version 0027 (SAPKD70027), it corrects this bug. Even with this version it might be that the queue calculation does not succeed, but it will give you some hints why (see the queue calculation log).

Best regards,

Dirk

Hi

Applying the patches .. See this..

To add support pack TCODE was SPAM (SAP Support Pack Manager).,

when u come to the servers part, it is quite differient when compared with XI3.0 and PI7.0 and at the same time in PI we have a provision of installing the both java and abap as central instance and when u see in XI3.0 u need to sepatrately configure for both java and ABAP, as a whole in concern we dont see separately in the servers part..*

Here choose the components of Netweaver which u require while configuring the receivers part..

Deploy the ADAPTERS by importing the XI7_0_SAP_BASIS_7.00_10_00.tpz

Hi nassyambasha,

Since NW2004s [JSPM |http://service.sap.com/jspm] is the official tool for applying SPs and patches to Java components.

If you have to apply a support package, it is best to follow the respective stack guide located here

http://service.sap.com/nwmaintenance70

It is a detailed step-by-step guide.

Note that you can use JSPM also to update SAP KERNEL and IGS even though these are not Java components.

Best regards,

Petar
