I have seen that characterstic are grouped together in a particular class. how i can do that??

for eg.

I have one class- A

& 15 charcterstic.

How i can grouped 5 in chemical, 5 mechanical, 5 general.

Like 3 tab

general chemical mechanical

1 (char) 1 1

2 2 2

& so on

1.If you are trying to do characteristcic groupin for the class that you have created- then go the assighnment in case if you have attached to the material.now go to the change view of the material and in classifcation view do the below

2.Go to value Assignment-Characteristics grouping

3.Select Create if youare creating for the first time

4.Give the name of the characteristc grouping ex:Chemical

5.Select the description and give the description for the goup

6.then select the display options - in your case it should be tab

7.you can set the screen and line size

8. Once done with this select the f8 or execute

9. this will take you to the interface desighn- characteristic valus

10. select the characteristics

11. this will show you the list of characteristics

12. select the required one

13.Then save it.

Now in the class you can see them as separate tab

how to delete the tab which is created?

Hi,

If you want to delete aleady created tab do the following.

1. go to MM02, select material, select classyfication tab

2. click on the top menu Value assigment-> Characterystic grouping -> Dysplay/Change

3. on the new window click on grouping ID which you want to delete/modify

4. on the Chars Group Overview screen select Goto -> Chars group (on the top of the menu)

5. another popup opens

6. click trash icon or select Descriptions button if you want to change description (language, text - 10 chars)

7. done

Hi,

If understood correctly, you can use characteristics group feature while creating each 5 chemical, 5 general characteristics .. etc.

Hi Vivek,

Create 3 characteristics like CHEM & MECH & GEN at CT04

If each group has 5 nos of own characteristics value means, assignteh characteristics value for each char group (3 * 5 =15 char values) in Values tab at CT04.

Create Class A at CL02 assign the 3 characteristics at Char tab for Class.

If this will not suitable for requirement please Explain in detail
