Green -- The configuration has no errors. The object is working fine.
Yellow -- Wraning message. There are some errors but atleast object is running using the last valid configuration.
Red -- Either the Error have failed the working of object ot The object is not available. This may be due to configuration errors or because the object could not be started for other reasons (for example, due to an unavailable remote server).

Hi,
>how many types of status symbols..like red,yellow... will be avialable in compnent monitoring
1) Green circle
The configuration of the object has no errors. The object is able to function properly.
2)Yellow triangle
The configuration of the object has errors. The object is running using the last valid configuration.
3) Red square
The object is not available. This may be due to configuration errors or because the object could not be
started for other reasons (for example, due to an unavailable remote server).
4)The central tool in Component Monitoring is the Runtime Workbench, which we call from the SAP Exchange Infrastructure start page. This tool provides a view of the current System Landscape. To create this view, the Runtime Workbench uses data from the System Landscape Directory, the exchange profile, and from the components themselves
When we have started the Runtime Workbench from the SAP Exchange Infrastructure start page. Component Monitoring is activated as the default on the initial screen
We use component monitoring in the following cases
a) To get an overview of the status of the individual components of SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI)
b) To use test messages to check whether the XI runtime is functioning correctly
c) To test whether cache connectivity is functioning correctly
d) To archive the message security settings or whole messages
e) To check the status of your communication channels or the adapters configured in them
f) To display current technical data for your Adapter Engine
g) To call the configuration data of individual XI components

Hi.,
the colors which are present in componet monitoring are
red, yellow and green..
red -- the component which contains error will blow red
green -- the component which contains success i.e an error free will show green symbol and it doesnt check any logical check and it basically checks what are all the basic parameters shuld contain..
yellow -- it basically signifies about the warnings..
