Express Planning and ESR

can anyone explain if express planning is part of ESR or completely separated? The available documentation of express planning speaks of "internal service requests".

What I was looking for, is a generic explanation how express planning fits into the big picture of "SAP ESR".

I understood that the services of express planning have nothing to do with services of ESR.

Is this correct?
