Hi all,
Please help me understand how the calculated characteristic work (when we select 'Cal. char' in control indicators)?
Thanks
Hi,
U can use this indicator for a characterisrics which is function of other two characteristics
For Ex
characteristics : 0010:length
characteristics : 0020:- Width
characteristics : 0030:- Area
Here characteristics 0030 is function of00010 & 0020
Supoose you want record results for all three characteristics.
Then u have to activate 'Cal. char' in control indicators for charccteristics 0030
And in quantitative data tab
In the formula field enter like this
a00010*ao0020
Where a0 stands for measured value for single unit and 0010 & 0020 stands for charc no.
If instead of a0 you used c0 then u will get ( a single value) arithmetic mean of two charc values
Whwn lot get generated in result recording tab once u finished the result recording for charac10 & 20 the go to evaluate formula tab > System will automatically calculate values for charc 30

Hi,
Ref the help provided by SAP
"You set this indicator if the inspection result for an inspection
characteristic is not determined through the inspection of this
characteristic, but on the basis of calculations using the inspection
results of other characteristics within the same operation."
For eg, If you have three insp char's for an operation in the insp plan , you can do it as follows.Assume you have marked Char 30 as calculated char's.
CHAR 10 - Degrees - 10
CHAR 20 - Minutes - 30
CHAR 30 - 10.50 Degress (From first two char's 10 & 20 you get this as result of (char10 + (char 20/60))
You need to set this in Insp plan for Char 30.
Hope this will help you.
