Hi Ankush

Question:- During implementation of PP module which factor should be consider during deciding Planning horizon.

Ans :-

Planning horizon is company specific. It depends on the bussiness they are. Moreover planning horizon will come in to picture if you use NETPL. if you use NETCH ( net change all ) it will not come in to effect. NETPL is net change with in planning horizon.

In general the horizon will be more than 30 days and less than 100 days.

The planning file entry is created if you change BOM, Routing, Basic dates, any change in requirement. NETCH will run all the changes without looking into horizon and NETPL will run with change made with in horizon period and MRP run date.

Question :- consumption mode in MTS strategy 10 and 20.

Ans:- Consumption mode will be there for Strategy 40. The PIR will get consumed as per the mode ( Backward / Foward ) as per the dates given.

Hi

Planning horizon will be plant wise setting in MRP plant parameters, but not material wise.

SAP by default it will give 100 days.

You need not stick to this value.

Factors to be considered for deciding this will be:

a)Max. replenishment lead time of any materil in that plant

b) time of receipt of your sales ordersin future.

Planning horizon will be considered for the past & future.

consumption mode will be for the strategy group 40 but not for 10 & 20.

This field will be used wherever sales order is consuming the PIR's.

Hopeit is clear to you.

hi

The planning horizon will change from company to company and product to product. Generally, we take one complete production cycle as base for planning horizon. Also, u can use a particular season as planning horizon.

This period is basically a period where production has maximum load and demand is to be met without fail.

Hi,

In std SAP planning horizon is 100 days. Everone is using that same.

For strategy 20 no consumption mode strategy 20 is not having PIR.

For strategy 10 cosumption mode will change depends on company.
