Local J2EE Engine Download?

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I have been trying to download files for J2EE engines to install on my computer, so that I can deploy and run my applications locally. I have no luck with the SDN download section, so I went to SAP Service Marketplace instead. My version is NW2004s 7.0 SP09. Please anyone help with this, which files should I download. Are they

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 1 of 4,

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 2 of 4,

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 3 of 4, and

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 4 of 4 ?

If so, how can I get the MaxDB folder without having a DVD? Please guide me through this, and I would greatly appreciate your help.

Regards,

-Napadol

Hi Napadol,

I'm looking for the installation files of SAP J2EE Engine and I see that you find it, could you please tell me the download link or the download steps please?

If you have the SAP Service Market access, try to download the files from there. Go to the download section and look for SAP NetWeaver and choose the SAP Netweaver 7.0 (2004s). Then put these files in the download basket.

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 1 of 4,

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 2 of 4,

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 3 of 4, and

NW 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace 4 of 4

Finally, use your download manager to download them. This is what I did. If you want to download them from the SDN download, use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.

Hi

Those are not the files for J2EE engine :

You can download from any one of the link given below

Download J2SE v 1.4.2_17 JRE which includes the JVM technology

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

Also you would need Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) during installation. You can find at the bottow of the link

"MaxDB" you can download from www.service.sap.com/swdc

Hi Shaji,

Thank you so much for your response. I downloaded J2SE v 1.4.2_17 and Java Cryptography Extension already, but I didn't see anything that tells me about the J2EE engine server at all. I am looking to download the J2EE engine server to run my Web Dynpro applications locally. If you can guide me through some more, I would greatly appreciate.

You can download the AS Java Trial version from the following link

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/e0576c7e-e306-2a10-37b8-a25d82e6f9d8

Hi Prince Jose,

Thanks again for the response. I tried to download from there many times before, but it kept giving me this error message: C:\Installs\NW_JAVA_700SP14__SR3.tgz:CRC failded in LICENCE. The file is corrupt. So, I don't know what's wrong or where else should I download it from. Any more suggestions?

Looks like some problem with the file .. Did you try downloading it using browser w/ download management ( firefox ) ?

If you have SMP login you can download it from service market place , http://service.sap.com/swdc --> Installations and Upgrades" SAP NetWeaver" SAP NETWEAVER" SAP NETWEAVER 7.0

Download the Master Installation CD , Dabatase CD ( it will show the database(s) licensed by your company , export CDs , Software component CDs etc .. But its not that easy like the SDN trial version installation . You need to read the installation guide from http://service.sap.com/instguides .. It might also ask you for license key from Solution Manager .

Firefox seems to download the file fine. I am going to try it eventhough it is taking so many hours to download. I will let you how it goes.

I did try the SMP a couple days ago, and those files from the beginning of this thread are what I selected. I didn't know exactly which files to select. I was also unable to find the Master Installation CD.
