How are you ?. Can anyone please let me know, what is a snapshot cube.

snapshot is like capturing the data at one moment of time. and if you have that time characteristic in the cube.

for eg: the open inventory changes from day to day and if you have date char in the cube and if you load at the end of everyday then that cube could also be called as daily snapshot cube...

A cupe is defined by multidimensional axisses. Some are fact the others measure. Facts parametrized by measures are pumped into the cube. Therfore cube lives, alters, develops. If you could stop time, you had a snapshot. But you cannot stop time. So copy cube very fast (no alterations while copy) and enjoy snapshot in future time. It is like a camera: you cannot stop people from moving. But you can take a picture of people. Picture is like people when taken photo. In old greek painting.

Snapshot is data captured at a particular instant of time and there is no routine or regular data feed into the cube.
