Factory Calendar changes Transport

Hi ,

I am facing one issue while transporting the factory calendar from development client to quality.

While transporting system is giving following messege-

"All public holidays, public holiday and factory calendars will be tranported. All public holidays ,public holiday and factory calendars will first be deleted in the target system"

Can anybody suggest the reason/impact of this messege. Will it be any problem if I ignore the messege and transport the new factory calendar???

Regards,

Mahesh Basappa

Hi

This is a standard sap problem. The calendar functionality doesnt allow to transport the changes specifically u have done. Once a transport is created and moved it moves the whole calendar instance to production. Hence whenever u do create transport we need to ensure that all the other changes done to any calendar by any one has moved to production.

Hence there is a dependancy of transport creation in calendars. Hence it will always have a message that all changes will be mioved and the current instance will be removed in receiving system.

hi,

basically what this message means is that whatever days which had been stored as public holidays or off days would be deleted from its history.

the impact of such deletion would be like whenever your are planning for your delivery or purchase requisition such off days also would be counted and you would not arrive on a precise working day to deliver your product.

e.g. if on tue is a holiday, and if you start your planning for purchase or delivery on monday keeping 4 days in mind then your delivery day would come as friday if tue is not marked as a holiday.

if this scenario with tue marked as holiday is applied then you will arrive to a day as sat which is more acceptable rather than the previous scenario.

thus you can stand to your committment date of delivery or purchase.

Siddharth.
