relevance of price reference materials

what is the relevance or importance of the field

price reference material in the material master record.

Its like when u want to refer a Price of one material with the one u r creating

i.e. Material master record that the system uses as a reference for pricing purposes.

The pricing reference material can be used to define the condition records for group of materials. For all these materials you have to assign the pricing reference material.

Once this is done; the condition record defined for the reference material gets applied to all the materials for which this reference material is assigned.

This saves time for condition record maintainance and as well the system performance.
