Hi pinki goswami ,

Thank you for the reply,

I did the following :

1. changed the SDM password

2. change the administrator password (using the steps mentioned by u)

3. restarted the server

Still no luck.

In Windows->Preferences->SAP Enterprise Portal

what is port and login id I should use? is this the uid which is used for deployment?

hi,

There are two replies to the last question you asked.

Do you have a local server??? or is it remote server.

if it a local server, select the second option and browse for the system name. the instance and the SCS number will be populated by itself.

If it is a remote server , folow the instructions.

1.Give the full name of the hostname that you give in the Portal url , say http://hostname:port/irj.portal.

2.Now logon to http://hostname:port/index.htm

3.Click on system information. Enter with administrator's id and password. Over there the message server port is displayed. Please use this message port.

regards,

pinki

Hi.

As you mentioned, you are deploying a EAR file.

So, You have to configure J2EE enjine Correctly.

Step 1: In NWDS-> Windows-> Perspectives-> J2EE Engine.

Step 2: Give Message Server Address

Step 3: Give Message Server Port(Not Server port like 50000)

Step 4: Check Server running or not from J2EE Engine tab.

If Surver running then Deploy your application giving the SDN Password (Not Portal Password).

Hi Thanu,

Either your admin password is expired or you have changed the administrator password.

Do the following Steps,

Use the Config Tool to change the entry in secure storage as follows:

1. Start the Config Tool.

(Execute <SAPj2eeEngine_install_dir> \configtool\configtool.bat.)

2. Select the secure store node.

The configuration for the secure storage in the file system appears.

3. Select the admin/password/<SID> entry.

4. Enter the administrator user's new password in the "Value" field and choose "Add".

5. Choose "File" --> "Apply" to save the data.

<b>Note: Contrary to the message that appears, you do not need to restart the server or cluster for this change to take effect. </b>

6. Finally restart SDM server.

Then deploy.

refer SAP note 701654

Hi Tanu,

1)plz check the SDM password

2)Enter the correct port no and the hostname

3)check whether j2eeengine started or not?

hi,

Two things may have happened . Oe sdm password has been changed.

For this change the passowrd in sdm.

But the second case is more likely,

Secure store password has been changed.

for this,

move to configtool >secure store>select admin/user/SID amd change the administrator name

configtool >secure store>select admin/passowrd/SID -and change the password and then select add. Then save.

Restart the server to let the change affeect take place.
