what is a subelement,in a message hierarchy where it occurs
and its importance?
For creating Sub element in the Data type your Node element should not have corresponding type .
Vendor_Detail
|__Header
|__First
|__Second
|__Detail
|__Description
Here For the Data type 'Vendor_Detail'
First and Second are sub element for Header
Description is sub element for Detail
Inorder to create sub element for Header node, Header node should not contain the corresponding type like String / Number etc.

Hi,
Subelements comes in Data Types, so, while defining the fields under subnode or any node, we basically call such fields as subelements..

HI,
The Data types used in Message in XI is created with either elements or Attributes.
Subelements are indiacting the elements structured under one element.
For e.g. An element have either type as String, integer, Date etc. or the substructre consists of different elements of various types.
These elments included in sub-structure are called as sub-elements.
You can create these subelemets in Data Type editor in IR. Just make sure to not mention any type for the element under which you will be creating the sub-elements
