Hi Ambi,
For getting an overall idea about <b>Web Application Server</b> refer:
<b>SDN eLearning is available at:</b>https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/was?rid=/webcontent/uuid/b1203f5e-0501-0010-bb88-9154... [original link is broken]
See the link below for <b>tutorials on Web Dynpro</b>:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/web dynpro sample applications and tutorials.htm
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Pooja.

Hello Ambi Chan,
Here is the link to the Web Dynpro examples and tutorials:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webas/web dynpro sample applications and tutorials.htm
It does cover most of it and for the rest there is always some information on the SDN.
Did you also configure SLD? (If not let me know I would send you the link on how you can do that!) That would help you to create the Jco connections (connnection via BAPI from Web Dynpro to R/3)
You can configure Jco Connection by going to the link
http://<your n/w server name / ip>:50000/index.html
in that select web Dynpro and in that then select content administrator.
In content Administrator, you can create that JCo destination.
Please follow the link to create one: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/94/3c1b40fcdd8f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm
