Configuration Only Copy from PROD TO DEV - Synch UP

Hi Gurus,

Following is my issue.

i have 3 sytem lamdscape DEV QA PRD.

inside DEV HAVE 3 CLIENT 290 295 296.

Module configurer created config in all this 3 client in dev and sent it tp PRD.

SO NOW my dev 290 which is suppose to be gold is not true gold cleint.

i have to make 290 gold as true gold.

i have locked down all other cleint 295 296 to create any config.

Please adive wether i am in right directin to sycn up my Gold 290 client.

Lock 295 296 to any config chnages.

Do a production copy config only copy to 290.

my questions are:

how reliable it is to copy all config only from prd to dev.

vil i loose version change control on 290.

what about client independent config.

(SAP_CUST - Client-dependent Customizing, including authorization profiles, are copied. The application data is deleted and the user data is retained.)

how cn i also get client independent condfig too.

General note:

In common scenarios there is no separate config on prod (system is locked for changes), so there is no risk that something can be missing when copying clients from prod.

The main problem is with client independent configurations:

- some table etries may be different because of new developments in progress

- some programs may be different because of new developments in progress

So what I can recommend you is to refresh the whole DEV system from PROD.

If not applicable :

perfom client copy from PRD to DEV to new/temporary client and test functionalities

If tests are succesfull - perform required 290 refresh.

Well, If yu havent't created config on prod, you shouldn't got any problems.

If there are inconsistencies - you shold resolve them before client copy.

check SAP note 130906 BEFORE client copy.
