Xi Prd Slow after deletion of XML messages

Dear Experts,

We are facing a problem in Xi prd. The server is running slow after doing Deletion job in for deletion of XML messages in Xi production. Our scenario was:

We were actually falling short of DISK SPACE, and this is when we planned for the XML deletion activity.

On reading various sap notes we have followed sap note no: 872388.

For your information the following are the activities performed on the XI PRD box...

In SXMB_ADM,

1) Integration Engine Configuration, RUNTIME Category – Trace level set to 1 from 3.

2) Define interfaces for Archiving and Retention periods, then Retention periods set to 224 days. (For testing purpose, as xml messages were not deleted from the go-live date, there were 7lakh + records in tables).

3) Configure Delete Procedure and activate the switch procedure.

4) SAP_BC_XMB_DELETE_<client> (Deletion job for XML messages) from Schedule Delete Jobs.

5) We have also created datafiles for PSAPSR3 tablespce from time to time during the JOB RUN (SAP_BC_XMB_DELETE_<CLIENT>), which nearly took 48 hrs for more details we can find the same on SM37.

After this activity we found that the free space for the SAPSR3 increased from 12% to 54% and we also observed that the TABLES SXMPCLUP, SXMPCLUR, SXMPSMAST and SXMSPVERS were copied to SXMPCLUP2, SXMPCLUR2 and so on with decrease in size. Also the lob segment has decreased to 40GB from 70GB (SYS_LOB0000022797C00008$$).

And also after this activity we have observed that SXMSPMAST2 is the current master table.

Now my concern is that I have too many of datafiles created for PSAPSR3 and the XI PRD has gradually gone down in speed, and is trebly slow.

We are on Windows 2003 server, oracle 10g and xi 7.0

Looking for help ASAP, as this is issue running on PRD

Regards,

Pavan
