Hi,

I am facing a problem while trying to start the instance but giving the below error. This is for your information that this server had a abnormal down due to power probelm. If any one could help me I will be highly oblized.

We ran into the same issue after a kernel upgrade..

The startsap log shows:

ShmDetach

FAIL: NIECONN_REFUSED (Connection refused), NiRawConnect failed in plugin_fopen()

dev_disp trace shows:

I have made sure no active process running and no shared segment/memory/semaphore as <sid>adm/ora<sid> user. ipcs comes clean.

Solution/Fix:

We have a security software called seOS on this server. Shutdown seOS and ran the /usr/sbin/slibclean (AIX 5.3) as root. This fixed the problem.

Hi,

Please paste the dev_disp and dev_w0 logs from work directory. Also check whether you are able to start database.

How us your CI + DB built, as in on same host or different host ?

Is R3trans -x working ?

Hi,

Stop SAP and check whether there are any processes already running as i saw a line mentioning dispatcher already running ??

Please shutdown SAP.

Then check whether any process is running by executing ps -ef | grep disp

if there any processes related to SAP and the particular instance in which you are having problems then kill those processes manually.

Once you have done that.

You can start SAP and then check.

first stop sap instance then restart sap instance.

i think some process is running on same port

provide dev_w0 and dev_disp log

is this your central instance or dialog instance? is any other sap instance is installed on same host i.e dev1?

Stop and restart the SAP system cleanly once again. After you restart it again send the dev_disp and dev_w0 logs.

is this your central instance or dialog instance? is any other sap instance is installed on same host i.e dev1?

Hi,

First please send the dev_w0 and dev_disp logs from the work directory. This will help us resolve the issue much easily. Also check if the tmp directory exists in /usr/sap folder.

Hi,

Please execute cleanipc <sysnr> as given in the SAPNote i have provided to you in the above message.

Do this when the SAP system is shutdown.

Hi,

Do a clean stop and start of the instance. Also reboot the system.

Do reward points if things workout.

Hi

Stop all you SAP Instances and the Database

run

1)cleanipc <inst.no> - to show

2)cleanipc <inst.no> remove - to remove

Do for all the instances

run

1)ps -u<sid>adm

2)ps -uora<sid>

kill all the process beloning to these users

run

1) ipcs

kill all the process beloning to <sid>adm and ora<sid> users

1) ipcrm -s PID /---' only one PID at a time

or

2) ipcrm -m PID /---' only one PID at a time

run

sappfpar check pf=<instance profile name>

correct errors if any
