Skipping merge in match /merge step in the workflow

Former Member

Dear all,

Accepting new imported records in a workflow. One step is looking for identicals in a match/merge step. The user has to accept or skip records depending on the matching results. Manual step to be performed always.

We are looking for a solution the manual step is skipped in case no matches are found. fi. the matching result is 10 low. The next step in the flow has to start now.

What process or process step has to be performed?

Thanks in advance

Harrie

Hi Harrie,

According to me, the match step will require manual intervention.

Match stencil congifuration only wants the matching stratergy name. And when execute the Workflow, the stratergy will show you the Match Results. After that you will have to come manually and do something.

And hence you cannot put any Validation or a process before the records actually come out of the match step. The concerned person will have to manually click on done. Then only the records will reach the next step.

Hope it helps..

Thanks and Regards

I agree with your answer but.......

In case of no score or low score I would like to skip the merge step. So after the match and score is zero the next step in the flow should start. In all other cases the records should be verified and accpted manualy.

thanks in advance

Hi Antonise

Merging should not be automated. becoz functional people have to sit with us to find duplicates depending upon the scores.u canot automate this process.

Antonise,

The match/merge step is manual because In real time scenarios 'The person who have access to add records in Data Manager not necessarily can have access to approve or disapprove the new added records', so the case become one client say add records in Data Manager and the approval/disapproval, match/merge etc. steps will be performed by Admin or say DBO.

Thats why match/merge step have manual execution.

And your qyery if no match found then its should be automatic to next step "No because Admin still can refuse those new added records untill and unless he/she is not satisfied"

Rewards if helpful.
