yes for a SAP system, can a database notify an external program because i can't use a program that connect all time to the database to check if there are any changes(it's not a good idea )

thanks

Not by default.

The question is - what are you trying to accomplish with such a setup?

You can use an higher level abstraction like ALE to synchronize data.

Hello,

the MaxDB Synchronization Manager can use a MySQL database for unidirectional replication. Changes in the MaxDB can be replicated to a MySQL database but not the other way. I have to admit that this feature is not heavily tested.

Just I would like to know. Why don't you exclusively use MaxDB as a database? If so you could use the Loader or the Synchronization Manager for replication.

have you any idea about how to synchronize them using an external program.

and can a database notify an external program if there are any changes.

that would be your smallest problem.

The bigger problem is, that the data structures differ, you would need to "map" them somehow.

Are you talking about a SAP system?

Those are two different products and can´t be "synchronized" on database level.
