Exporting changes in IR and ID from DEV to QA

hi

i have the following questions in XI Tranports.

1). If i changed my mappings in IR, how to export these changes from DEV to QA ?

2). If i changed configuration in ID , how to reflect these changes from DEV to QA ?

3). What configuration i need to do in R/3 QA (like port, sm59 or partner profiles) ?

Hi abhijit , you can go thru the following steps.

Using File System Transport :

EXPORT:

1) Select the Object in IR/ID that you want to migrate.

2) Right click and say Export.

3) choose mode as "transport using File System"

4)Choose the required object set

5) Finish.

It will place the File with "tpz" extension in the export directory.

IMPORT

You (Basis activity) will have to copy the files to impot directory of QA.

1) Go to Tools

2) click import design objects

3) Select the design object from the list

4) Finish.

Note : In case of ID, the imported objects goes in Change List under "import" change list , You will have to activate the change list to see the changes.

OTHERS :

1) Abap transports if required for tables

2) Alerts you have to create manually again.

3) in SLD set the transport targets for Business systems/

Hi,

When ever u make any changes to mapping and you wish to transport those changes from DEV to QTY menas , you can Export that mapping object alone and you can reflect that itself in QTY by following the normal File system Export

Normally for ID also.

Comming to R/3 side means normally u have to maintain the port, PF and all

Hi,

If you have already transfered the IR and ID objects from Dev to QA and now if you want to make changes to the existing system, then you need to make those changes in the Dev environment and you should transport it again to the QA, this will overwrite the existing IR and ID objects and only the latest details which you transported will be available.

In Dev,

You can goto Tools-->Export design Objects --> for IR

You can goto Tools-->Export Configuration Objects --> for ID

Now the objects in dev environment wil be exported to the directory configured(in case of File system transport).

Now goto QA,

Tools-->Import design Objects --> for IR

Tools-->Import Configuration Objects --> for ID

This will import the IR and ID objects from Dev to QA.

You can always have your version management, when you are transported objects from Dev to QA.

You can also use CMS transport for transporting objects from Dev to QA.

Hi,

U can export the changes either using File transport method or using CMS transport method.

Two types of transport mechanism are used in PI.

• File transport method.

• CMS transport method.

Hi,

Go to Tools -> Export Design Objects

then it will ask u ->using CMS or File-> gives u three option 1) SWCV,Namespace or individual object-> follow the steps and finally .tpz file is created.

take the .tpz file from file server and use the import option in QA.

In ur case if u have made the changes in individual object then u select the individual option in File transfer.

For ID follow the same steps. but u need to make the changes manually in adapter.
