IDoc Adapter type

Former Member

Hi

I have a doubt in IDoc; Practically we don't have to use sender channel for IDoc and Plain HTTP adapter types. I am using SAP XI 7.0 and in which a channel with adapter type HTTP sender is disabled. But the same case for IDoc is not disabled!

Why it is so? Can we use sender channel for the adapter type IDOC?

If so, where and how?

Regards

Vinod

Hi

Both Http and IDoc senders are used as per the requirements,

Pls chk the below links

Http Sender

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/64db4daf9f30b4e10000000a11466f/content.htm

If you want to specify security checks or adapter-specific attributes in the message header for the plain HTTP inbound channel, create a communication channel for the party and service in the Integration Directory.

IDoc Sender

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/b9/c5b13bbeb0cb37e10000000a11402f/content.htm

You must also create a communication channel with adapter type IDoc for sender systems that expect acknowledgment messages from an IDoc adapter.

Hi krishnachitanya,

I have gone through all the ways and posted the question.

The IDoc Sender channel configuration asks the parameters like

Transport protocol

Message protocol and

Adapter engine.

So please clarify me doubt..

Hi,

>>I have gone through all the ways and posted the question.

The IDoc Sender channel configuration asks the parameters like

Transport protocol

Message protocol and

Adapter engine

So wat we can do with these 3 parameters, we have so many parameters inorder to process a file. then from where u will determine those ...these 3 are not that much of help to process a file

By having only these 3 para is not sufficient. So thats why we have the option to post the idoc from r/3 with all the necessary parameters....

Hi Seshagiri,

Thanks for the reply; At least you have gone through the problem. Please try to solve this Qst,

( 1) If Idoc sender channel is not in use with the 3 insufficient parameters, why its giving such an option?

Any reason behind that?

Hi Vinod,

That is the behaviour of those two IDOC and the HTTP adapters made them the avialability like that,

There is no special reason behind these.

Dont confuse yourself much regarding this

Hi,

IDOC and HTTP adapters relied on ABAP stack of integration Engine.

Generally for HTTP and IDOC adapters it is not necessary to configure the sender Communication Channel.

The Idoc is sent from the SAP system directly to the Integration Engine and so no Sender IDoc adapter needed.

Thus IDOC Sender Channel will also be deactivated as similar to HTTP.

Select IDOC adapter in Adapter Type and make it as sender.

Thanks

Hi Vinod,

For this IDOC and the HTTP Sender's we dont have the Sender Adapters.

If u Observe in ID at the time of creation of Communication channel u will come to know the situation to those two adapter when u compared to other adapters.
