I am installing SAPNW2004S on Windows x64 and am using a x64 installation. I cannot locate a Java 1.4.2.x for AMD64 and it looks like that one does not exist.
If I want to install IDES versions of SAPNW2004S, CRM05, ECC06 on AMD64 (MSSQL), what version of Java should I use and where do I get it?
I have tried several (many) times with the latest Java 1.6 SDK but the installation keeps breaking on 'Install Software Units' steps.
Yes - points awarded for assistance that resolves the issue -
Thanks in advance...
Thank you - I know where to find Java 1.4.2.x, but if I want to install Win_x64 versions of CRM or ECC I need to have a 64 bit Java runtime or the install complains. I have tried to install using the 1.4.2 but these are only x86 and the system will not install with these. I then tried to install with 1.6.4.x and the install works fine, until it breaks.
So the question remains:
1. Is there a supported Java x64 for Windows at 1.4.2.x version?
2. How are we supposed to install the x64 versions of SAP on windows when the only supported Java seems to be x86?

Thank you very much - now another question - how did you find this information? What did you do to locate this information, as I tried but failed, and therefore must be doing something wrong.
