Hi,

Find the details reg SLD, TS and BS.

SLD:

The System Landscape Directory (SLD) is an SAP product that enables you to describe products, software components, logical systems, and technical systems. SAP Exchange Infrastructure accesses this information at design time, configuration time, and runtime.

Relationship Between SLD and Integration Repository/Integration Directory

Design Time(Integration Repository)

Software components and software products as installable shipment entities.

Configuration Time(Integration Directory)

Technical systems (for example, an SAP system), in other words components installed in a system landscape.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/53/fe48b44c5e4bcab5c71fdcf3ee9bc7/content.htm

The SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD) is the central information provider in a system landscape.

The SLD contains two types of information:

Component Information: This is information about all available SAP products and components, including their versions. If there are any third-party products in the system landscape, they are also registered here.

At design time of the integration objects, the component information is extracted from the SLD to define integration scenarios.

Landscape Description: This contains all installed systems in a system landscape.

When a collaborative business process is configured, the landscape descriptions are needed to determine the system information of the business partners involved.

SAP recommends that you use one SLD.

If you have more than one SLD instance, you must ensure that all content is synchronized. The SLD has export and import functions for this purpose. See SAP Note 764393 for more information.

The differentiation SAP XI makes between objects from a logical collaborative process and the installed system landscape is also made in the SLD. However, this distinction is not reflected in the product names (System Landscape Directory).

Business System:

Business systems are logical senders or receivers that exchange messages by using the Integration Server and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.

The business systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape. The business systems of business partners are therefore not entered in the System Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use communication components in the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a communication component in the Integration Directory more precisely (business system component).

Technical System:

Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape.

SLD is an databse which recognizes all the systems present in the landscape when you register it with it...XI Is an client and SLD is server...so XI will check with the SLD for existence of systems....

technical system will be always one for any type of systems but it can have any number of the Business represents of that TS.

Hi,

Technical systems and Business systems are the basic components of SLD. They both related to identify the systems included in the environment.

Technical systems identifies the systems in the data center. It could be R3... etc. The Business system is the logical representation of the technical system, that we used to access the backend systems.

In order to connect to one R3 in the Data Center, we need to have onle one Business system and Technical system.

Hi,

Why do we require to register our componants with SLD

SLD is the central information repository for your system landscape. It contains information about technical systems, landscapes, business systems, products, and software components in your system landscape. You can view and manage this information in the SLD.

This information you could use for integrating various Technical system and Business systems.

what is TS and BS.

-->

TS

Technical System are used to define physical host on which a system is installed. The exact settings of each tech system depends on the type of System you are installing.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/24/8fa93e08503614e10000000a114084/content.htm

BS

Business Systems are defined from technical systems or rather Technical Systems are the basis for which a technical system is defined.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/42/c817d9d2296bb2e10000000a1553f6/content.htm

Take a look at service.sap.com/sld for further info.

You can have any number of namespaces in a SWCV.

example i am foing to use File to Idoc scenario, then how many TS and BS need to create

--> You need to create seperate Business systems and technical systems based on the physical and logical systems.

If your sender system and receiver system are different then you need seperate Technical system and Business systems

For File to IDOC scenario, IDOC receiver will be SAP system, you need one Technical system and one Business system based on the client.

For File either you could create technical & Business system for FTP server or you could go for Business service,

Business Service : This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.

Business Service is a abstract representation of a System. For instance, www.google.com have a several system working together and IPs of this machines change eventually. When we use a Business Services like google we reference a computer that we don't know the phisical implementation.

Thanks

Hi,

Your SLD says about Your Organization Landscape

we need to register the Applications which are involved in the integration in SLD to identify them at the time of Interation.

>>what is TS and BS.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/24/8fa93e08503614e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

>>for example i am foing to use File to Idoc scenario, then how many TS and BS need to create

For this u need one TS & BS for File application if u know the SLD. otherwise u can go for Business service.

And the Other TS & BS for SAP R/3 Application
