I have little bit doubt in client

what is mean different client?

Client 000

Client 100

Client 300

Client 400

Client 800

hi,

the clients are the platforms under which you perform your operations on SAP.

e.g a client 100 would be a development client, wherein whatever developments you create for your SAP business, you test them over here.

while 200 is your main client, where after testing the new developments in 100 you apply it to your main system.

client 100 contains arbitrary data, as only testing data is used, whiel the client 200 contains the factual data related to your business processes.

100 is a practice client while 200 then becomes your object client.

But remember that, in the dev server normally we have a sandbox client where we do all the test configurations and check the settings with some dummy data. A golden client where only the configs are made, no test data. If required one more dev client where we do unit testing. Here you cannot config anything.

then we have a quality and a Production.

Mr.Mohammed,

Client definitions are something whuch we can define ourselves. The number is purely hypothetical. You can give it any three digit number you want.

What they normally do is they take the reference client 000 which comes from SAP with all the basic config and copy it to the target client that is yours. You can at the time of copying give it the characteristics you want, production, quality etc. coupled to this is the authorisations and controls which basis add making it the development, quality or production..
