Hi Guys,
I am new to SAP XI. I have few doubts regarding Message Mapping. As i am aware of graphical mapping. Structure mapping, And value mappings. What is meant by Mapping functions and Remove Context, Collapse Context, Split by value, and Split by reference. Please try to send me some Mapping documents so I will get one idea about all these stuff. Thanks in advance.
Thanks
Kiran.B
Hello Kiran,
Remove Context: Remove all higer level contents of the source level message in Order to map with the
target message filed. So you can get the node contexts removal.
Collapse Context: Copies first values of all contexts to one context are replaced by Empty string.
Split by value: Insert context change for an element Split by value is some as Conter Part of remove
context. Here instead of Delivering the context you can insert change in the source Value
Queue.

Hi Kiran,
Actually mappings can be classified into 4 as follows,
1. Graphical Mapping --- Message mapping
2. Java Mapping
3. ABAP Mapping
4. XSLT Mapping
Actually u need some stuff regarding the mapping functions which are present in the message mapping..
In node functions we get Split by value, Remove contexts, collapseContexts..
Split By value again has 3 possiblities -- Each Value, Value Changed, Empty Value.
and follow this documents for the information..
Remove context -

Mapping functions =
Remove Context =it means closing the sublist
Collapse Context= it means remove the blank context
Split by value=it means if you are creating one context that is 100 if the incoming data is in related to the 100 then goto the one seprate folder atherwise all the data go in another folder
Split by reference=it means give the condition that is ifthe data is new go to in one folder and if it is update go to in both folder
