SAPinst problem installing Solution Manager

SAP Solution manager 4.0 SR3:

OS: Linux RHEL 5 (64bits)

DB: MAXDB

Hello,

after 2 hours of running sapinst to install teh solution manager an error occurs at step 30 of 47:

ERROR 2008-03-13 17:47:56.677

CJS-30149 ABAP processes of instance R01/DVEBMGS00 [ABAP: UNKNOWN] did not start after 10:00 minutes. Giving up.

ERROR 2008-03-13 17:47:56.678

FCO-00011 The step start with step key |NW_Onehost|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_Onehost_System|ind|ind|ind|ind|1|0|NW_CI_Instance|ind|ind|ind|ind|11|0|NW_CI_Instance_Start|ind|ind|ind|ind|1|0|start was executed with status ERROR .

I have no idea what to do.

Can anybody help me?

I think, the problem is:

• DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpMsAttach: local hostname 'saprcon' is resolved to loopback address (cf. SAP note 1054467 for details)

• DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***

As a non-professional in linux I'm searching now a solution for the ip-adress of the hostnamne saprcon

Hello,

I am getting same error

CJS-30149 ABAP processes of instance SSP/DVEBMGS00 [ABAP: UNKNOWN] did not start after 10:00 minutes. Giving up.

I am doing local installation( my server is not joined to any domain its on WORKGROUP) so what should I do as /etc/host file configuration problem was for the servers joined to some domain!! Please help.

Sorry Wajih,

I don't still know what I did in this case. I've had a lot of problems installing Solution Manager and ERP.

I think, I had deleted the system and the database.

the problem has been false settings in /etc/hosts.

As described in note 1048303 I have given the correct entries in /ect/hosts, so that now hostname -f gives the hostname plus domain.

Now I have the next problem:

I still had found the files under /usr/sap/R01/DVEBMGS00/work and try to understand the logs:-)

If you see errors post the relevant part here (or the full log).

there is no dev_disp or dev_w0

under /sapmnt/R01 there are only the 3 folders

- exe

- global

- profile

try

/usr/sap/R01/DVEBMGS00/work

If that directory is not there and you can´t find dev_w0 there went something wrong with your installation.

Check the output of /sapmnt/R01/DVEBMGS00/work/dev_disp and dev_w0 in the same directory for possible problem.
