Hello,
I am new to MDM.
Can some one help in knowing
1. When a user is loged in to MDM through EP, how is he authenticated?
2.How is the MDM screen viewed by user loged through EP?
3.How do we map MDM roles to EP roles / iviews?
Hi,
The connection between the portal and the MDM Server works only with user mapping i.e. by mapping the portal user group to an MDM repository user.
For the MDM screens, we have standard MDM iviews which comes along with the MDM Business Package which needs to be installed in your MDM server.
There are different iViews for various opertaions like searching, creating, deleting records etc.
And for your third question, there is nothing as MDM roles. We create certain roles which contains worksets or pages or iViews and attach these roles to specific users or user groups.
This role creation is done on the EP side and not on the MDM side.
You can refer this link for Portal Content regarding MDM:

Kindly reward points if found useful and revert back in case of any doubt.
Regards,
Becky.

Dear Friend,
Here is the answers you asked for
1. There are two ways to get authenticated by MDM through EP. Method-1 is do the usermapping with the mdm system in the portal, then it would authenticate to MDM. method-2 is to configure SSO between MDM and EP.
2. MDM Screens are nothing but the iviews which comes when you deploy the MDM Business Package. You should download it from service.sap.com and deploy it onto Portal.
3. There is nothing like mapping roles. For a given portal user when mapped to the user in the MDM then it would assume those mdm roles.
Hope this is useful.
Thanks,
Raags
