f i want to cancel a contract i can straight away got to va42 and cancel the contract what is the importance of contract profile in cancellation?please help

The contract profile is explained in three categories: contract profiles, contract validity dates and cancellation procedures.

The contract has a validity for one year.

For each cancellation procedure, you must assign a cancellation rule. It defines two basic aspects.

1. The date of earliest cancellation for the start date plus the validity period rule.

2. The period of notice , which is the period before the end of the contract for which a cancellation notice must be entered, failing which an automatic extension of the contract is valid for another year. The customer then has to submit a cancellation request three months prior to end of the next cancellation period.

Hi,

I dont think so you can cancel a contract document. You can assign Reason for rejection probably.

Contract profile is used to default the contract dates in the sales order. This can be found in VEDA table in SE16.
