I am new to sap xi. so could you give the details like

when do we go for abap mapping?

And how to do this?

if possible could you give me simple scenario example with screen shots?

We used ABAP mapping very specific to our requirement where we raise Errors in SXMB_MONI and terminated the Message Processing.
