If you are building a Web Module Application, you can also build a Enterprise Application Project within NWDS which access your Web Module Applicaiton Project. Then, make a build of the Enterprise Application Project which will produce an .ear file. You can then deploy the ear file to the Portal using the SDM and make it visibile within the Portal through an iView.
