Hello,

When I try to start my IDES 6.0 my work process dies since they are not able to connect to the SQL 2005 DB.

I get messages in the event viewer as - "Login failed for user SAPServiceIDS. Client : <local machine>"

Can someone please guide me how do I make this login sucessfull so that the IDES system starts properly.

Regards,

SAT

Hi,

check the password for SAPServiceIDS user in windows if necessary change it,

and assign the new password of this user in windows services.

start -> run -> services.msc -> navigate to SAPIDS_<inst>

right click on that -> properties -> logon assign the new password here which you changed.

Hello Kausahl,

THanks for your reply.

I have tried this too.

I resetted the password for SAPServiceIDS user and updated the settings in services.msc

But I am still getting the same error ---

Login failed for user 'IDES61\SAPServiceIDS'. [CLIENT: <local machine>]

Any other alternative?

Can you let me know how do I login into SQL DB from command line?

This is dev_w0 log file

Hi,

Just check whether all the services like, MSDTC and SQL Server Agent have started. If everything is fine just try to restart windows once.

Sometimes this helps. You can work on SQL Server command line by using the SQL Analyzer window.

Suhas

Hi,

Just check whether the user with which you are trying to start the service exists in SQL Server 2005. I am not talking about the OS Level user. I am talking about the SQL Users.

If the user doesnt exist then we need to create the users in SQL.

Please refer SAPNote 551915 - R/3 won't start after database restore or database copy

Suhas

HI Suhas,

The user exists in SQL 2005 under security.

I ran the service as local account. The SAP system started but with same huge number of errors in application event log.

In event log, the source of the error is SAPIDS_00 & error is -->

Background processing: Batch scheduler: Unable to perform job RFF110S/FSCM BKR1000.

I will go throught that note too.

If you are using the default user id i.e. SAPService<SID> then it is the master password you had given during the installation. Otherwise check the user id by selecting the service from services and see what is the "Log on" is. then go to the computer management under Administrative tools and reset the password. You cannot find out the the existing password if you forgot. Resetting is the only way. Otherwise you have ask around your admin team if anybody else changed the password.

Satyajit,

I am the same error when installing CRM. How did you fix this problem?

Hi,

Start the service SAP<SID>_00 using windows local account instead of SAPService user.

I tried restting the pwd of this SAPService user but donno why it was still not giving access to the SQL DB.

So after starting the service using local account, things worked fine. The work processes after startup were able to connct to the DB.

satyajit,

I did the same. But instead of doing local account i used the <sid>adm and it worked out fine. It was little tricky since it happened to me during installation. As the installation tries to restart i had to change the windows services logon to these services within the retry period and it worked out.

Thanks for the information.
