Hello Kavitha,

What are the values for your environment variable in the <sid>adm user profile for the following:

DIR_LIBRARY

dbms_type

Dear,

Please check who is the owner for the oracle directory in /home dir.. and if it is not the root change it to root and similarly to the next sub directory client and not to any other directory below that.... and start the SAP.. it should work...

I had encountered the same problem and resolved by changing the owner for oracle and for client under the same directory,,,,

Maximum points to be Rewarded if it helped

The person posting this thread has already mentioned that the underlying database is MAXDB

minimum or no points for you

Hi,

Kavitha, There could be many reasons for such an error. What i have found in my experience is that the error is related to an incorrect environment variable....

Also sometimes realted to Oracle Client software...

Please look into this SAPNote 403004 - Database connect using R3trans fails

This note will be very helpful.

Hi,

can you please show us the content of the R3trans logfile, created by the R3trans -x command?

---

Please note that if you're an official SAP customer you should open a OSS message for your issue, if not already done so. Please read [this thread|;.

Additionally, please refrain from using things like 'URGENT'. More on this can be read [here|;.

Thanks & regards,
