Shopping Cart : Attachment taking long time to attach

Dear all, we are running SRM Server 5.0 with classic scenario. Our users are all based in Singapore and we are getting complaints that when they try to attach files (in document and attachment section) in shopping cart, it is taking very long time to attach. (one case it took, 15 mins to attach a 6 MB file). The system performance overall is very good and no complaints about it. It is only during the attaching of files, it is taking long time. Can anyone help us understand how this attachment works , like where is it stored, in table or filesystem and how to tune the system to perform better.

Thanks

Regard

Gabriel Bertrand

Hi,

Pls see the foll note :

Note 550071 - FAQ: EBP - Shopping Cart

Generally the system performance depends upon the various other parameters (e.g. many sessions/users shd go with small file sizes and small number of sessions/users can use large file sizes).

Pl check notes:

The size related parameters are set in RZ10.

I had also read on this Forum in a thread by RAMKi

that 5 MB is the maximum file size recommended.

The following notes tried to address the problem of large file sizes but they are not relevant with integrated ITS.

Also if the documents are too large ,you can have a seperate docuement server instead of having the attachments on the SRM application server!

Pls see this thread in which Christophe has explained in detail how the attachments are stored in SC.
