\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS00\work folder has lot of trace files. Checkout dev_ms(message server), dev_dispatcher (dispatcher) if there are any errors. Also check SM21 the system log ans st22 the ABAP dump.

I irregularly read some of the threads here in the NW Admin forum, and learn alot at the same time

Although I am not the moderator here, would anyone like me to remove these "please give the points" comments when I see them?

From experience, I can say that it helps after a while...

Cheers,

Julius

Hello Balaji,

For anything related to J2EE Engine - check the <j2ee instance>\work directory first.

For server process, check std_server0.out file, dev_server0 file. If the server has restarted, the new std_server0.out will be created in which case the previous .o00 or .b00 will have the cause. You should also check latest defaultrace file under server0\log foder.

Usually server restarts happen (most of the times) due to outofmemory errors. Please check if memory parameters are maintained as recommneded as per note 723909.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Snehal
