PGroup responsibility issue

Hi experts!

I am working with classic scenario SRM 5.5.

I have a PGroup referencing PGroup in R/3.

I have 2 type of products in SRM:

1) products replicated from R/3

2) products created locally (where Product ID in SRM = product ID in R/3).

I configured the responsibility tab for my PGroup as : 1) prodcat * / sourcesystem R/3;

2) prodcat * / sourcesystem SRM

I have no problem creating a SC and PO with items from R/3. However, when I select an item where log.system is SRM, there is no Pgroup populated for that item and I can’t create a shopping cart.

Please help.

Regards, Irina

Hi,

Where are coming your PRCAT ?

If from R/3, your logical system is never SRM but R/3 !

Do not get confused : you can have R/3 and SRM product both linked to PRCAT replicated from R/3.

If products created in SRM are linked to PRCAT replicated from the R/3, then your Pgroups have to be linked to R/3 logical system.

Kind regards,

Yann

Hi Yann, Thanks for your reply.

Both product subtypes and PRCAT is replicated from R/3.

I tested again: created a new SRM product in PRCAT replicated from R/3.

When I search for a product inside the shopping cart (find product screen), the log.system for this new product is SRM (not R/3).

Any reasons why?

Thanks

Hi,

Please let me complete the clarification.

Don't be confused between product and prcat :

1-The logical system attached to the product is the system where you have created the product.

Thus, if product have been created from SRm, then logical system is SRM.

For replicated product, logical system is R/3

2- the PRCAT have been replicated from ECC which means that the logical system is R/3

3- Concerning the Pgroups, there are linked to the PRCAt and thus to the R/3 logical system.

Even if you product has been created locally in SRM, your PRCAT is an R/3 one and thus Pgroup is linked to R/3 logical system.

Hope this clarify the situation.

Kind regards,

Yann

Yann,

I understand your point. So it is OK to see a product created in SRM with log system listed as SRM.

I did a number of tests:

1) created a local PGroup and assigned responsibility PRCAT * / logsystem SRM.

2) selected a SRM item, PGroup got populated with my local Pgroup.

Same result if I change PRCAT logical system to R/3 (not sure why).

But if I link this PGroup to R/3 (function tab), the Pgroup is no longer populated when executing scenarios described above.

What else I am missing?

Regards.

Hi,

In classic scenario, you have to link the Pgroup to the R/3 value but you have also to tell the system :

- which node or position the Pgroup is driving in the responsability tab.

- which PRCAT the Pgroup is driving

Example :

Pgroup ABC linked to PRCAT 122456

Pgroup ABC linked to Org node 50000001

Kind regards,

Yann

The issue was caused by corrupted system copy
