REP and RWB show the message "Application cannot be started!"

Former Member

The repository and the RWB are not starting.

REP Details: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Container metamodelrepository is not active at the moment and it is not possible to startApp sap.com/com.sap.xi.repository

RWB Details: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Container metamodelrepository is not active at the moment and it is not possible to startApp sap.com/com.sap.xi.rwb

There is also an interesting error in the server developer trace: WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiAddrToHost(1.0.0.0)

Any idea about what the problem might be?

Hi Javier,

Looking at the error's mentioned below, i guess you have to fix the Network Settings (DNS) on ths host first.

Then restart the ABAP/J2ee engine and check the services have started succeffully or not in the J2ee Visual Admin tool for Repository and RWB.

Thanks

Regards

Prasad

What kind of DNS settings should I try to change?

I already tried the "DNS Configuration for BSP Applications Under Windows 2000" since I'm working with Windows 2000 http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw31/helpdata/en/9f/fc9c3b122efc6ee10000000a114084/content.htm

But it didn't work. I keep getting the same error.
