Hello - I am having the same problem, but with a different upgrade (46C -> ERP 2005). Which kernel do I need to patch? The kernel of the current 46C system? Or one or both of the kernels from the kernel disc (SAP700OPT / SAP700NEW)? Thank you.

Hi TJ,

I typically use 145 or 146. I could provide you a download link for that completely patched kernel, which I typically implement in the upgrade.

Hello İbrahim,

You cannot change '15.01.08' because it is the requirement date, not the R3trans you downloaded.

From the log, the R3trans in your /usr/sap/put/exe (target release kernel) is compiled on '19.06.07' - before '15.01.08'.

From SWDC, the latest R3trans patch is R3trans_148-20001357.SAR - compiled on "Feb 22 2008", which should be sufficient.

Also download other parts of the target kernel?

Hi,

... and then you need to patch DW to at least 135 as well, as R3trans will core otherwise ;-((

Hello Ibrahim,

I am also getting the same problem as yours in Solution Manager 4.0 Upgrade.

I have downloaded the latest patches for R3trans and Disp+Work from market place and copied them on IFS rootbin tmp directory.

while trying to apply patches to Upgrade kernel in '/usr/sap/put/exe' with below command it is giving me error "kernel library does not exist"

Could you please help me out in this.... what parameters to be passed in SAVF & KRNLIB?

Errors:

APYR3FIX SID(I40) SAVF(QGPL/DW) SAVLIB(GEN700OPT) KRNLIB(DW) EXEPATH('/sap/usr/put/exe') FROMHOST(LOCAL) FROMDIR('/tmp/i40') FROMFILE(SAR)

Errors occurred in command.

Hi,

you can apply DW fix using following command.

  • APYR3FIX SID(<sid>) SAVF(QTEMP/<tool>) SAVLIB(GEN700<x>OPT) KRNLIB(<700-kernel>)

  • APYSAP TYPE(*KERNEL) SID(<sid>) DSTLIB(<700-kernel>) DSTDIR('<DIR_PUT>/exe')

where tool = DW

<sid> = you sap system ID.

<700-kernel> = your kernel library

GEN700<x>OPT = x indicate U or N

Hi,

Before applying fix stop the sap system.

check Note 49365 - iSeries: Importing a patch

and apply DW patch according to note.

if you still facing a problem then open a new thread with problem.

Hi,

you can not apply DW patch on running sap system, so first stop sap system.
