unable to deploy ear file on SAP J2EE Engine.

Hi Guys:

In the SAP J2EE's Deployer Tool. When I click on deploy ear file I get the following error:

Host : [localhost] with UserName : [Administrator]

Check your Login

Exception is :

javax.naming.NamingException: null

ID003814 : JNDI Exception in

getInitialContext of InitialContextFactoryImpl [Root exception is

com.inqmy.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException]

Hi Sam:

by now you might have found the answer.Sorry for the delay.

Anyway,If you are using SAP J2EE 6.30 use SDM to deploy ear file but if you wanna deploy using deployer well basically when you get to the 3rd tab Deploy in the Deployer Tool, from the Tool bar Menu select Connect and you will be able to change the properties.In my case the port number was 3011 and I had to change it to 50004 and it works.

I am getting the same error as you did. But I am installing it in UNIX platform. How I can move forward.

Please open your J2EE Engine View in the IDE (Windows Menu). Check if SDM can be seen there and tell me.

I am quite new to all this.

Can you please let me know how do we open the sap j2ee view in IDE (Windows Menu). Check if SDM can be seen there.

Hi Nikhil,

the J2EE view can be opened at Window->Show View->Other->J2EE->J2EE Engine in the IDE.
