IDES ECC 6.0 Installation Problem at IMPORT Stage (Urgent Help Required)

Respected All,

I am installing the IDES ECC6.0. I am getting an error at the 17 Stage Import ABAP stage. At this stage the utilization of CPU goes to its threshold level it constant above 70% & reaches to 100 %, and after some time monitor starts fluctuating & server restarts.

*Hardware configuration is :-*

*CPU :- Intel P4 2.5 Ghz.*

*RAM :- 3.5 GB.*

*OS:- Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2.*

Please guide me on this.

Try and dump the Installation CDs on your Hard disk and run SAPINST from there.

I already change the shared pool size in oracle to 400000000

Hi,

Sachin, login to the server as <sid>adm and execute R3trans -d or R3trans -x. If you are getting Return code 0000 then we will have to look further. but if you are getting an error then you can change your login as administrator and execute R3trans -d ot R3trans -x and check the output.

Restart the installation in the user id where the return code 0000 and see if you are overcoming the error.

Hi,

Sachin, i think i have a solution for your problem. But as you havent provided me the sapinst file i am just trying my luck as i have faced this only one issue when i have installed an IDES.

Just change the Oracle Parameter "SHARED_POOL_SIZE" for Shared Global Area to around 400MB in the initsid.ora file.

Also increase the "shared_Pool_Reserved_Size" parameter by the same percentage.

For eg the current values are

SHARED_POOL_SIZE = 120000 kb

Shared_Pool_Reserved_Size = 12000 kb ( one 0 less)

shutdown the database and restart it again.

Now start the sapinst once again.

If your error is solved i deserve reward points ))

You are at which state ??? what is the phase where you are receiving error ??

If possible send me the log for sapinst.
