Moving from Microsoft Domain to SAP

Hi all,

From past 6 yrs I am working on Microsoft domain on Application development and Management using VB, DotNet, SQL, MSI Technology, Citrix, all wintel OS Windows XP, NT, 2k, 2k3, Wise Package Studio, Release Management, CRM and Now microsoft Business Intelligence.

I am planning to move to SAP domain.

I am also considering to take up my PG Diploma in Finance or Supply chain Management.

Can you guys generously respond to this message and advise me:

1. how long it may take to pickup expertise in SAP?

2. And what are the best directions and decision I need to take to make my career successful?

3. Most importantly, how far I can use my Microsoft domain Knowledge while picking up SAP?

4. Where to start for a guy with my profile?

Hi Sreenivas G,

This is very good idea to move in SAP, as per your profile you can go for SAP ABAP or SAP BASIS module. Because you know development and admin part. Both are good in SAP and future also.

I have no idea in your country where you can get training because I am from India.

Moving forward, I am willing to take FICO path, for this where to start? Please advise on SAP ABAP or SAP BASIS?
