I have installed a NW2004s AABAP+ JAva system.

The database machine is residing in another box

The Virtual memory is set as 25 GB in C:

SAP is installed in F:

But i see the machine restarting 2 or 3 times

Please let me know whether you have faced this situation in SAP Server

What can be the reason for the same

The machine (hardware) or the SAP system?

If the hardware is restaring look at the windows event viewer.

Please check the std_server0.out file to see what is causing the restart.

Confirm if the memory settings are configured as per note 723909 and also configure the system for heapdump as per note 1004255.

Make sure you have jstartup/keep_old_logfiles=3 maintained in the instance profile under /SYS/profile.

This will ensure that the std_* files are backed up for 3 server restarts.

Paste the exception/error from the time of restart here.
