Hi,
Did someone install and configure JDI SP14. if so could you please share your experiences with this new release from JDI perspective?
Thank you
Hi Reddy,
I've installed it without a hitch and so far, the one thing I noticed is that there are two new wizards for portal component development (they are described here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/32/98e6418b7eca17e10000000a155106/frameset.htm )
We also had an issue with AD group integration using NWDS and I know this fix was delivered as well.
Hope this helps,
Marty

Hi Marty,
Thank you for the reply and sorry for delay. Good to hear that SP14 is working fine. Our basis team is currently upgrading to SP14. Might be I will start working on new version of JDI next week. Hope that you can help me if I face any problems.
In mean time, a small question:
1. If there are any step by step guides to install and configure JDI, it would be of great help.
2. I was able to transport all types of applications with JDI SP12, but the problem that I was having was, few DC's were marked as "Dirty" and after 2 or 3 days.. they were deployed and waiting for import in consolidation. I dont know the reason.
Did you test with transporting a bunch of PAR files (PAR DC's) in one SC using JDI, if so..did u face the problem with dirty DC's that I was mentioning above.
If so, could you please let me know, how did you solve it.
Thank you
P.S: Points Awarded
Hi Reddy,
For the install guide, I just used the How-To that is on service marketplace. I believe it's called "How To install the Java Development Infrastructure" --just follow that step by step and you'll be fine.
I have not transported a bunch of par's in an SCA yet using SP14. I did run into an issue using External Library components. Make sure you basis team downloads Patch 2 for SP14 JDI Build Tool that is currently on Service Marketplace.
service.sap.com/patches
Entry By Application Group/Netweaver/NetWeaver04/Entry By Component/Development Infrastructure
Patch for JDI BUILD TOOL 6.40 SP14
This should alleviate some problems.
Thanks,
Marty

2. and what are you using JDI for, I mean for transporting what type of content. Is it portal based content or something else, becuase my primary aim is to transport .PAR and .EPA files.
Thank you
Hi Reddy,
