File adapter scheduling

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I have a FIle to file (to archive 8 xml files within same FTP) scenario, and the file sender communication channel is scheduled to run everyday at 10:00 pm for 9 minutes.

the problem is..... on some days i see the same file is archived twice at different times.

I am not able to understand what went wrong.

Beacuse as soon as the file gets pickedup from the source directory, it is deleted from the source and then sent to archive directory. and also that file sender adapter is scheduled for just to be active for 9 minutes.

Is there something wrong with the Reciever communication channel, as it is active all the time?

Please suggest on why it is happening and how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance,

MK

Thanks Guru.

I looked at SAP note you mentioned,

You have configured a SAP XI 3.0 J2EE File Adapter sender channel on an XI environment running on multiple cluster nodes

Couldn't able to understand the above statement, can you explain?

i am running the scenario on test XI system, which got its server in germany and we are in different time zone.

And we are using PI 7.0 SP 19.

Thank you.

Hi MK,

I believe ur SP level is XI 3.0 SP 19 , is it, u've given as PI 7.0 SP 19. I'm working on XI 3.0 SP 16. I have the same problem with JDBC adapter. We have 3 cluster nodes, Sometimes the JDBC adapter will poll 3 times the same data and scenario will get executed. In your case it's file.

If you go here you can see how many clusters you have

http://host:port/AdapterFramework/monitor/adaptermonitor.jsp

Thanks raj.

on the link you provided, i found the below details:

Details for http://sap.com/xi/XI/System:File on node Server 0 1_10671

Status..... Name...... Text

..............Note........ File Adapter Monitoring is now part of Channel Monitoring

Displayed 1 entries for http://sap.com/xi/XI/System:File on node Server 0 1_10671

Where it shows the number of cluster nodes present?

And how to see on what XI system we are on (i.e, XI 3.0 or PI 7.0)?

Please give your valuable suggestions.

Thank you.

MK,

In IR itself u can see, go to Help Menu and choose Info. Or Go to Administration tab on

http://host:port/rep/index.jsp , there you will find your SP level.

Ok, since u are on SP 19 , Go to Communication Channel Monitoring , if you choose Comm.channel there, in the bottom you can see the no.of clusters you have. There might be some other way to check the clusters also , like if you go to SAP MMC or Visual Admin. I don't know any other option, but surely there are options to see the cluster nodes.

the main thing is When the input file is processed, it will be deleted from the source directory..........right

So how could it get processed second time by the other node?

Please suggest on it.

Thank you.
