Hello Tsungy Tadinos ,

1)

Could you please update the thread with answers on the posted above questions.

You posted that you have "Maxdb 7.6.0 ,ECC6 Suse 9.1", but the information about

database version is not complete. It's also good to know the build number.

2)

It's looking that you gave answer on the question "What was changed in the database or on the database server?"

When you wrote => "i made 2 database parameter changes which are use_open_ direct from no to yes ._maxtask_stack from 512 to 1024 "

If you are SAP customer please review the SAP notes No. 977515 & 814704 & 851333.

3)

Please also post the tail of DBAHIST.PRT < as of 03/01/2008 >.

Please aso update with following information:

  • Did you check OS messages . Please post them. < <.>/log/messages >

  • You posted the knldiag.err entries. Please post the knldiag file :

head - to see more details ... and database parameters values;

the part of entries with the errors - to see the information beetween the

errors;

  • How did you mount the FS for the data volumes & backups? Are you using NFS?

mount | grep <FS for datavolume or backup>

  • Could you please set the database parameter USE_OPEN_DIRECT to NO & restart the

database to activate the new value & let me know the results after that.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello Tsungy Tadinos ,

Please update with additional information:

-> Output of the following commands:

dbmcli db_enum

dbmcli inst_enum

sdbregview -l

xinstinfo <DB name>

dbmcli -d <DB name> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> param_getvolsall

dbmcli -d <DB name> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> medium_getall

-> Could you restart the database in the online status?

-> Was the database running before the problem occurred?

When the problem started first? < Check in the knldiag.err file>

What was changed in the database or on the database server?

-> Are you SAP customer?

-> Please check if you have the I/o problems with backup device.

Please check, if you could run full database backup to different location /different disk.

< Create a new medium >

-> Did you run the CHECK DATA before you was running the databackup?

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi,

do this error also occur if you save to disk and not to tape?

The Errors are Read Errors, but when was the the last Tape Cleaning?
