Message Types for V1 (Sales) application

Please tell me where we can see the configuration for Message types (like Warrning, Error and Information messages) for V1 application.

OVAH - V4 - Define variable message

OVM1 - VL - Define the message types of system messages

Transaction SE91 will display all system messages (by message class - V1 for your case).

However, maintenance of the V1 messages is very tricky... V4 is easy (via OVAH) - you might want to check SE91/V1 for your message, select the message number and click Object List. Under the Message Class folder, see if V4 is there. If it is, then you can modify through OVAH. If it's not there - then I'm not sure what your next steps would be...

Thank you for your reply.

I would like to know where we can configure these Messages.

For example in Sales Order creation system will give an error message like "Sales Area is not defined for the Material xxxxx".

please let me know where we can see this assignment?

Hi, Go to SE91 transaction and type V1 in message class and click on messages - display.

You will now see list of all messages for this application.

You can now select any of the message and then click on " Where used Icon " to know where all this message is used and double click on the program to see the ABAP code.
