I have a simple question. What is the sapstartsrv process in ECC 60 and what is it used for?

Thanks for the help,

Hi Domenick,

The SAP service interprets the Microsoft Windows start profile and starts the processes of which the instance consists. The processes are started by the program sapstartsrv.exe.

Ganesh,

I am running HPUX and the sapstartsrv process runs even after SAP shutdown. I'm still confused as to what this process is and doing?

Thanks,

Domenick

Hi Domenick,

The start service sapstartsrv was originally developed for Windows platforms, but has now been ported over to all platforms. See Note 936273.

Thanks Matt!

That note is great. I appreciate the help.

By the way, I work for one of your old SAP friends. (KD) He says Hi!

Thanks again,

Domenick
