Hi,

I would like to know, is there any other way of getting support packages for ECC 6.0 other than through the Solution Manager component?

I know that we should configure SAProuter, but what exactly is the procedure?

I have heard peopla saying that we can use SNC.

Could anyone please assist on the configuartion procedure.

Hi Triver

Yes you need to configure saprouter then create landscape and maintain RFC for solutionmanager and ECC6

Hello,

if you search for information for the saprouter you can go to:

There you will find all info concerning the saprouter.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for you reply,

If i am not being too annoying, I would like to know the procedure for,

1.If there is already a solman installed for an existing landscape, i have been told that the landscape shows it, but i dont see it. Is there any transaction code for this, besides the landscape.

2. Can you we configure a solman for an existing landscape?

Currently we have ECC 6.0, with Oracle 10.2.0.2.0.

Hi,

If you mean downloading by saying "getting support packages " so you can still download via the service.sap.com/swdc but you HAVE TO confirm the files via sap solution manager.

for that you need to configure "maintance optimizer" in your solution manager (search notes with this name) and user transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.

Hi Trevor,

Since ECC 6.0 you must use the SAP Solution Manager. I think it's not possible anymore to install a support package without SAP Solution Manager. With ECC 5.0 it was possible!

SAP wants now that you manage all your SAP systems via SAP Solution Manager.

Mathieu
