Problem with starting Java and ABAP Trial Version on VMWare

Hello everyone,

I have downloaded the "SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java and ABAP Trial Version on Linux - VMware Edition" Archives from the Download area and extract all the files in the archive(s). Now I got these files:

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive.vmx

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2).vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s001.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s002.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s003.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s004.vmdk

......

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive(2)-s017.vmdk

I put all the *.vmdk and the *.vmx on the datastore of my VMWare ESX 3.5 Server.

When I want to create a new virtual machine, i choose "Use an existing virtual disk" and browse to the directorie with the vmdk files.

But the problem is the *.vmdk files will not be detected there.

Is it necessary to convert the files before i can add it as a virtual disk?

Please help me.

Hi Tobias, you should an extra rar file from the novell home page. The link is in the NW vmware trial download page or

You should register there and download the rar file which have the files:

SLES10SP1Single.vmx

SLES10SP1_Test_drive.vmdk

SLES10SP1NW.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive-s001.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive-s002.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive-s003.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive-s004.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive-s005.vmdk

SLES10SP1_Test_Drive-s006.vmdk
