If we dont have sufficient information to create a Business System in SLD for Sender or Receiver then what could we do?
Hi
We can use Business Service in ID part(Cross Company Environment).
In IR: Import Software Components that we have created in SLD, Create Namespaces then under Interface Object we have to create Data type, Message Type, Message Interface for each (Sender and Receiver). After this we have to create Massage Mapping and Interface Mapping for the scenario under Mapping Objects. Finally we have to activate all these objects we have created in IR.
In ID: Create Config Configuration Scenario under which we have to import / assign Business Systems / Business Services, Communication Channels for (Sender and Receiver), then we have to create Receiver Determination, Interface Determination, Sender Agreement and Receiver Agreement. Again we have to activate all these objects in ID.
Hope this will help you

Purpose
The SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD) is the central information provider in a system landscape.
The SLD contains two types of information:
· Component Information: This is information about all available SAP products and components, including their versions. If there are any third-party products in the system landscape, they are also registered here.
At design time of the integration objects, the component information is extracted from the SLD to define integration scenarios.
· Landscape Description: This contains all installed systems in a system landscape.
When a collaborative business process is configured, the landscape descriptions are needed to determine the system information of the business partners involved.
SAP recommends that you use one SLD.
If you have more than one SLD instance, you must ensure that all content is synchronized. The SLD has export and import functions for this purpose. See SAP Note 764393 for more information.

SLD is nothing but SYSTEM LANDSCAPE DIRECTORY.
Bascially XI is middleware. So we need other 2 systems
which they want to communicate throught XI.
These 2 systems are logically defined in System Landscape
Directory.
It will consist Technical system and Business system.
Techincal system is nothing but for which server you are
sending or recieving the information.
Business system is nothing but for which client or SAP box
you want to send or recieve.

Hello,
like said already you can use business service in this case.
A business service doesn't exist in the SLD and you just have to create it
in the Integration Builder.
It's described here:
