Difference between Customization and Configuration

What is the difference between Customization and Configuration.

Hello,

when ever you say Customization, it has to be enhancement. I mean there need to be somethin to be changed in the code to meet the client requirements.

And, Configuration is nothin but mapping the same in the SAP system.

PLease correct me if wrong.

I agree to that cause the word says it itself

Customize, where ar configuration is just to configure it to your needs if you don't want HRM, for say, you do not configure it you just configure sap in modules you company wants to implement

Dear Kannan

Based on the client's requirement, you customize the process in standard SAP without changing the standard IMG settings.

If you make any changes in IMG based on client's requirement which has not been addressed in standard SAP, then that is called configuration settings.
